Historical Costumes

Visiting the exposition of Renaissance costumes in the times of Queen Isabel I of Castile is like travelling back in time to relive some of history’s most memorable events and people.

They paved the way for today’s modern women clothes and now you can embrace their glamourous spirit in these costumes.

Dress-making becomes definitely an art and tailors reach the top in their profession; they are called sewist, a new term combining the words “sew” and “artist” to describe someone who creates sewn works of art.

Visitar la exposición sobre los trajes del Renacimiento en la época de la reina Isabel la Católica es como viajar en el tiempo y revivir una época de grandes hombres y acontecimientos. Allí se sentaron las bases de la moda femenina y ahora podemos disfrutar del glamour de aquella corte.

La confección de vestidos se convierte en un verdadero arte en el que los modistos culminan su saber hacer; se les llama "sewist" un nuevo término que combina las palabras "coser" y "artista". 

Durante la visita guiada pudimos disfrutar de las profusas explicaciones de Carmen, especialista en vestidos históricos que respondió amablemente a nuestras preguntas.Muchas gracias.
